Liquidation pulls guar seed down
NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 2,696 crore (one-way) on Wednesday with active trades in guar seeds, pepper, chana, soya oil, gold and jeera.
Chana posted a turnover of Rs 214 crore and the near-month contract closed down at Rs 2,333 per quintal. Jeera registered a turnover of Rs 182 crore and closed down at Rs 11,354 per quintal against the previous close of Rs 11,516.
Pepper posted a turnover of Rs 229 crore and closed down at Rs 12,629 per quintal against the previous close of Rs 12,687. Soya oil registered a turnover of Rs 188 crore and the near-month contract closed down at Rs 483.45 per 10 kg against the previous close of Rs 484.95.
MCX registered a turnover of Rs 3514.93 crore in the first session up to 5 pm, up 2.75% from that in the corresponding session of the previous day. Bullion turnover was Rs 1,182.05 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, dipped between Rs 4 and Rs 20 per 10 gm. October gold fell 0.09% at Rs 8,820 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini, rose between Rs 8 and Rs 128 per kg. September silver gained 0.8% at Rs 16,204 per kg.
In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 697.09 crore. Copper contracts were up between Rs 3.05 and Rs 3.35 per kg, with the August contract up 1.06% at Rs 289.85 per kg.
Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 600.7 crore. Zinc contracts gained between Re 0.85 and Rs 1.15 per kg, with the August contract up 0.92% at Rs 126.4 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 206.44 crore and all lead contracts was Rs 267.42 crore.
