Lead futures lose 0.43 pc on sluggish demand

Lead prices fell by 0.43% to Rs 103.10 per kg in the futures market as speculators reduced their positions amid subdued demand in the spot market.

NEW DELHI: Lead prices fell by 0.43 per cent to Rs 103.10 per kg in the futures market today as speculators reduced their positions amid subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for December contract delivery lost 45 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 103.10 per kg, with an open interest for 1,183 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for January contract delivery weakened by 35 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 104.10 per kg in 342 lots.

Analysts said subdued demand in the spot market mainly pulled down lead futures prices.
