Khandsari remains up in steady gur (Jaggery) market

The wholesale price of khandsari rose by Rs 50 a quintal in the national capital following reduced arrivals amid better offtake.

NEW DELHI: The wholesale price of khandsari rose by Rs 50 a quintal in the national capital on Monday following reduced arrivals amid better offtake.

Elsewhere, other gur (jaggery) prices remained flat on little buying support. Marketmen said a pick-up in demand from local parties along with a fall in supply, caused the rise in the prices of shakkar.

Khandsari prices moved up by Rs 50 to settle at Rs 1,700-1,750 a quintal on better offtake.

Following were today's quotations for different varieties of gur in quintal. Chakku Rs 1,800-1,850, Pedi Rs 1,850-1,900 and Dhayya NT Shakkar Rs 1,950-2,000 and Khandsari Rs 1,700-1,750.
