Kalaunji, methiseed prices rise on buying support

NEW DELHI: Kalaunji and methiseed prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today largely influenced by fresh buying support from retailers and stockists amid low stocks.


Kalaunji and methiseed prices rose by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 7,700-9,700 and Rs 3,400-4,400 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up kalaunji and methiseed prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Ajwain 10,500-17,000, black pepper (per kg) 360-480, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 820-950 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 980-1,050.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 700-820, cardamom (colour robin) 680-810, cardamom bold 700-770, cardamom extra (bold) 870-1,000 and cloves (kg) 625-775.
