Jeera, turmeric decline on subdued demand

Jeera and turmeric prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely due to weak retailers and export demand amid adequate stocks.

NEW DELHI: Jeera and turmeric prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely due to weak retailers and export demand amid adequate stocks.

Fresh arrivals from producing region also put pressure on the prices.

Jeera common and jeera best quality fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 13,700-13,900 and Rs 17,000-17,600 per quintal.

Turmeric prices also declined by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 4,400-7,900 per quintal.

Marketmen said weak retailers and export demand amid adeqaute stocks mainly pulled down the jeera and turmeric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
