NEW DELHI: Jeera prices gained 1.70 per cent to Rs 14,675 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery April rose by Rs 245, or 1.70 per cent, to Rs 14,675 per quintal with an open interest of 14,421 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 250, or 1.70 per cent, to Rs 14,970 per quintal in 6,291 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in jeera prices at futures trade to rising demand at spot markets amid restricted supplies from producing regions.
