NEW DELHI: Jeera prices fell by Rs 147.50 to Rs 13,360 per quintal in futures trade on Monday as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid expectations of higher output this season.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March fell by Rs 147.50, or 1.09 per cent to Rs 13,360 per quintal with an open interest of 10,107 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in April lost Rs 140, or 1.03 per cent to Rs 13,445 per quintal with an open interest of 7,881 lots.

Analysts said profit-booking by speculators on expectations of higher output mainly influenced the jeera prices at futures trade.
