Jeera futures fall 1.32% on weak domestic demand
Amid weak domestic demand and higher supplies in the spot markets, jeera prices fell by 1.32% to Rs 14,390 per quintal in futures trading today as traders offloaded positions
Weak domestic demand in the spot markets against an increase in supplies, mainly weighed on the trading sentiments, marketmen said.
"Domestic demand has declined notably after festivals, kept pressure on the spice prices at futures trade," said an analyst.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December fell by Rs 192.50, or 1.32 per cent, to Rs 14,390 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,571 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 192, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 15,300 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,945 lots.
