Jeera futures fall 0.29 pc on profit-booking

At the NCDEX, jeera for delivery in May declined by Rs 40, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 13,915 per quintal with an open interest of 14,430 lots.

NEW DELHI: Jeera prices declined by Rs 40 to Rs 13,915 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid weak demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in May declined by Rs 40, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 13,915 per quintal with an open interest of 14,430 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 37.50, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 13,800 per quintal in 1338 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in jeera futures to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels, weak demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
