Jeera futures down on better supply

Jeera prices fell marginally on the futures market in early trade today on increased selling by traders on reports of higher arrivals.

NEW DELHI: Jeera prices fell marginally on the futures market in early trade today on increased selling by traders on reports of higher arrivals.

At 1125 hrs on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera prices for July delivery contract were down 0.01 per cent to Rs 11,933 per quintal, clocking a business volume of 138 tonnes

September contract delivery prices also moved down by 0.40 per cent to Rs 12,477 per quintal with business volume of 783 tonnes.

Traders said increased arrivals following offloading of stocks by farmers at prevailing attractive higher prices in the spot market mainly attributed to fall in the jeera prices.
