Gur prices up on paucity of stocks

Gur prices shot up by Rs 100 per quitnal in the national capital today following paucity of stocks against increased buying support.

NEW DELHI: Gur prices shot up by Rs 100 per quitnal in the national capital today following paucity of stocks against increased buying support.

However, Muradngar and Muzaffarnagar gur markets ruled flat on little doing.

Marketmen said reduced arrivals from manufacturing areas due to bad weather conditions against rising demand mainly pulled down gur prices.

In Delhi, gur chakku prices climbed up from Rs 3300-3400 to Rs 3400-3500 per quintal.

Gur Dhayya prices also hardened from Rs 3500-3600 to Rs 3600-3700 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Gur chakku 3,400-3,500, pedi 3,400-3,500, dhayya 3,600- 3,700 and shakkar 3,600-3,700.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,700-2,750, chakku 3,000-3,150 and khurpa 2,900-2950.

Muradnagar: Pedi 3050-3,100 and dhayya 3,100-3150.
