Gur ends steady in Delhi; up in Muzaffarnagar, Muradnagar

The steady trend of Jaggery in the national capital is mostly attributed to scattered demand.

NEW DELHI: The wholesale gur ( jaggery) market ended on a steady note in the national capital today largely on scattered demand.

On the other hand, gur Khurpa in Muzaffarnagar and Pedi in Muradnagar attracted buyers' attention and rose by Rs 50 per quintal.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices settled higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal, while at Muradnagar, gur pedi gained Rs 50 at Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal): Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,700-2,800, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,300-2,350, chakku Rs 2,300-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,300-2,350 and Ladoo Rs 2,450-2,600.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,400-2,450 and dhayya Rs 2,450-2,500.
