Gur ends lower on increased supplies, reduced offtake

At Delhi, gur pedi declined by Rs 50 to Rs 2800-2900 per quintal.

NEW DELHI: Gur prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale gur ( Jaggery) market in the national capital today on increased supplies from producing areas following improved weather conditions amid reduced offtake by stockists.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also followed suit and finished lower.

Traders said increased supplies from producing areas supported by an improvement in weather conditions against reduced offtake by stockists mainly led to decline in wholesale gur prices.

At Delhi, gur pedi declined by Rs 50 to Rs 2800-2900 per quintal.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat and khurpa also declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 2300-2350 and Rs 2500-2550 per quintal, respectively.

Gur pedi and dhaya in Muradnagar, too traded in negative zone with a loss of Rs 50 each at Rs 2550-2600 and Rs 2550-2600 per quintal, respectively.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Gur chakku 2,750-2,850, pedi 2,800-2,900, dhayya 3,000-3,100 and shakkar 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,550-2,700 and khurpa 2,500-2550.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2550-2,600 and dhayya 2,550-2600.
