Guarseed futures gain on speculative buying

Guarseed prices rose by Rs 170 to Rs 5,570 per quintal in futures trade today on increased buying by speculators on rising demand in spot markets.

NEW DELHI: Guarseed prices rose by Rs 170 to Rs 5,570 per quintal in futures trade today on increased buying by speculators on rising demand in spot markets.

Marketmen said apart from lower levels buying, weak supplies and strong export demand into the spot markets mainly pushed up guarseed futures prices.

At the National Derivatives and Commodity Exchange, guarseed prices for far December contract spurted by Rs 170, or 3.15 per cent to Rs 5,570 per quintal, with an open interest of 104 lots.

Most active October contract gained by Rs 80, or 1.48 per cent to Rs 5,500 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 9,774 lots.

Current July contract rose by Rs 70, or 0.98 per cent to Rs 7,200 per quintal in 5,359 lots.
