CHENNAI: The prices of gram dal declined and sugar edged up, while other commodities ruled steady on the wholesale foodgrains market here on Monday.
The rates of thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, wheat, maida and sooji remained unchanged.
Gram dal declined by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 2,800 from the previous level of Rs 2,850. Sugar edged up by Rs.10 per quintal to Rs 1,350.
Following are today's rates (per quintal): Thoor dal Rs 4,450, Urad Dal Rs 3,800, Moong Dal Rs 3,200, Gram Dal Rs 2,800, Sugar Rs 1,350, Wheat Rs 1,450, Maida (90 kg) Rs 1,400 and Sooji (90kg) Rs 1,550.
