NEW DELHI: Concerned over the skyrocketing prices of onion, the government on Tuesday put a stop on exports of the commodity for the next 15 days to ensure adequate stocks are available in the domestic markets.

"No fresh no-objection certificates (NoCs) permitting export will be issued till the shipments are due as per the NoCs issued earlier," Nafed, the main canalising agency for onion exports, MD Alok Ranjan said.
