Gold, silver bounce back on global cues
Gold and silver recovered after two days of losses at the bullion market here on buying at low levels amid an upsurge in the global markets.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) shot up Rs 490 per 10 gram to end at 27,305 from Tuesday's close of Rs 26,815. Pure gold (99.9 purity) spurted by Rs 505 per 10 gram to close at Rs 27,440, up from Rs 26,935.
Silver ready (.999 fineness) also jumped Rs 610 per kg to finish at Rs 63,310 as against Rs 62,700 previously.
In New York, Gold rebound on lingering concerns about the state of the US economy and declining stocks. Gold for December delivery surged by USD 38.20 to USD 1,829.80 an ounce on the Comex division of NYMEX yesterday.
September silver was also rose by 85 cents to USD 41.40 an ounce.
