Edible oils up on limited trade

MUMBAI: Groundnutoil prices advanced at in an otherwise limited oils and oilseeds market here today on sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid ensuing festivities.

Refined palmolein also rose owing to good retail buying support.

Meanwhile, castorseeds bold rates unavailable from source though castoroil commercial, castorseeds futures and linseedoil traded almost flat amid listless trading activity.

In the edible section, groundnutoil strengthened by Rs 8.75 per 10 kg to Rs 1,180 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,171.25 and Refined palmolein went up by Rs 5.75 per 10 kg to Rs 517 from Rs 511.25.

Turning to non-edible segment, castoroil commercial inched down by 25 paise per 10 kg to Rs 725 from Rs 725.25. Linseedoil also softened by Rs 25 paise per 10 kg to Rs 810 from Rs 810.25 previously.

Moving to futures, castorseed December resumed slightly lower at Rs 3,685 and moved in a range of Rs 3,702 and Rs 3,670 before settling at Rs 3,687 against Rs 3,688 previously, showing a mere loss of a rupee per tonne.
