Edible oils, spices climb agri charts on NCDEX

The agri-commodities counter was up on Wednesday, especially edible oils and spices. On NCDEX, volumes were Rs 2,066 crore with active trades high in soya oil, guar seed, soya bean, pepper and rape mustard seed among others.

MUMBAI: The agri-commodities counter was up on Wednesday, especially edible oils and spices. On NCDEX, volumes were Rs 2,066 crore with active trades high in soya oil, guar seed, soya bean, pepper and rape mustard seed among others.

Soya oil saw a turnover of Rs 444 crore and price moved up from Rs 523.15 per 10 kg to Rs 527.55. Soya bean saw a turnover of Rs 300 crore, and the price moved up to Rs 1,759.50 per quintal from Rs 1,732.

Pepper turnover moved up to Rs 237 crore, and prices moved to Rs 13,935 per quintal from Rs 13,896. Rape mustard seed clocked a turnover of Rs 203 crore and the price moved up to Rs 490.35 per quintal from Rs 486.40.

In domestic futures, up to 5 pm the turnover was Rs 4,720.88 crore on MCX.

Bullion turnover of Rs 2,782.66 crore consisted of gold contracts, including gold mini, moving up in a range of Rs 69 and Rs 114 per 10 gm. Gold December traded up by 1.12 % at Rs 10,295 per 10 gm.

Silver contracts, including silver-mini fell by Rs 54 and gained Rs 731 per kg. Silver December contract traded up 2.04 % to Rs 19,595 per kg. In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 483.76 crore. Copper contract traded up between Rs 5 and Rs 3.65 per kg. The November delivery contract was up by 1.34 % at Rs 275.30 per kg.

Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 235.18 crore. Zinc November contract was up by 1.19% at Rs 106.70 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 44.22 crore and that of all lead contracts was Rs 209.76 crore.
