Edible oils remain higher on pick up in demand

Wholesale prices of select edible oils today rose up to Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital largely in tandem with firming global markets.

NEW DELHI: Wholesale prices of select edible oils today rose up to Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital largely in tandem with firming global markets.

In the edible section, groundnut mill delivery gained Rs 50 at Rs 7,250 a quintal on fresh buying by millers.

Mustard expeller oil rose by Rs 30 to Rs 6,980 a quintal on local parties buying.

Traders said firming trends in Malaysian palm oil mainly influenced the trading sentiments here.

Soyabean refined mill delivery and degum also rose by Rs 50 each at Rs 7250 and Rs 7050 per quintal respectively on higher overseas advices.

Cottonseed mill delivery also traded higher at Rs 6,500 from Rs 6,470 a quintal.

Following were today's quotations in Rs quintal: Oilseeds: mustard seed 3050-3150 and Groundnut seed 2750-3000.

Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 970-1065 Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery 7,250, Groundnut Solvent refined (per tin) 1250-1300, Mustard Expeller 6,980, Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 820-985, Mustard kachi ghani (per tin) 975-1050, Sunflower 6,500, Sesame mill delivery 7,700, Soybean Refined mill delivery 7,250, Soyabean degum (Delhi) 7,050, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 5,170, Cottonseed mill delivery 6,500, palmolein (RBD) 6,300, Rice bran (phy) 5,600 and coconut (per tin) 1100-1110.

Non-edible oils: linseed 5000 Mahuwa 4400, castor 6500-6600, Neem 4,100-4200, Rice bran 3900-4050 and palm fatty 3125-3200.

Oilcakes: groundnut dehusk 770-820, Sesame 925-1125, Mustard (new) 1000-1025, Mustard 1175-1185 and Cottonseed 1050-1150.
