Edible oils prices up on fresh buying

NEW DELHI: Edible oils prices firmed up in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market on Thursday on revival of buying by vanaspati units amid higher advices from producing regions.

Marketmen said fresh buying by vanaspati units and retailers ahead of festive season mainly led to the rise in edible oil prices.
Higher producing region advices too positively impacted the market sentiment, they said.

In the edible section, groundnut mill delivery oil gained Rs 100 at Rs 7600 a quintal on higher advices from Gujarat.

Sesame mill delivery oils attracted buying support from vanaspati units and gained Rs 50 at Rs 5050 a quintal.

Palmoline (rbd) up by Rs 50 at Rs 4950 a quintal on higher outside advices.

Soyabean degum (Delhi) also rose by Rs 30 at Rs 4850 a quintal.

Among non-edible, castor and neem oils went up by Rs 50 each at Rs 4650-4750 and Rs 3650-3750 a quintal respectively on increased industrial offtake.
