Edible oil complex gains flavour

MUMBAI: MCX registered a turnover of Rs 5,154.24 crore in the first session up to 5:45 pm (delayed due to sun outage), up 40.54% from that in the corresponding session of the previous day.

Bullion turnover was Rs 1,904.71 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, gained between Rs 6 and 38 per 10 gm. October gold was up 0.36% at Rs 9,378 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini, fell up to Rs 65 and gained up to Rs 125 per kg. December silver rose 0.69% to Rs 18,198 per kg. In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 718.87 crore.

NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 1,704 crore with active trade in chana, guar seed, pepper, rape mustard seed, soyabean and soya oil. Chana closed up at Rs 2,312 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 238 crore. Guar seed closed at Rs 1,696 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 222 crore. Pepper closed down at Rs 11,971 per quintal and posted a turnover of Rs 158 crore. Jeera closed at Rs 9,629 and posted a turnover of Rs 151 crore.

Sugar closed down at Rs 1,318 and posted a turnover of Rs 49 crore.

Rape mustard seed closed up at Rs 456.8 per 20 kg and registered a turnover of Rs 155 crore. Soyabean closed up at Rs 1,636 per quintal and recorded a turnover of Rs 341 crore. Soya oil closed up at Rs 492.5 per 10 kg and registered a turnover of Rs 157 crore.
