Edible, non-edible oils rule flat in thin trade

New Delhi: Steady conditions emerged in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market on Tuesday with prices of edible as well as non-edible oils settling around previous closing level after moving in a tight range.

Market men said negligible enquiries from vanaspati units and local parties mainly kept prices unchanged.

They said tight money market conditions too had its impact on the volume of business which dropped considerably.

Following were today's quotations per quintal: Oilseeds: mustard seed 1800-1940 and cottonseed not available.

Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 735-845. Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery 6,830, Groundnut Solvent refined (per tin) 1130-1145, Mustard Expeller 4600, Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 710-730, Mustard kachi ghani (per tin) 750-870, Sunflower 4,030, Sesame mill delivery 5100, Soyabean Refined mill delivery 4,800, Soyabean degum (Delhi) 4,670, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 4,090, Cottonseed mill delivery 4,600, palmoline (RBD) 4650, Rice bran (phy) 3,850 and coconut (per tin) 870-880.

Non-edible oils: linseed 4600 Mahuwa 4200, castor 4700-4800, Neem 3050-3150, Rice bran 3130-3180 and palm fatty 3050-3100.

Oil cakes: groundnut dehusk 770-820, Sesame 900-1100, Mustard 670-680 and Cottonseed 725-825.
