Dull day at agri counters

NCDEX posts Rs 1,582 crore turnover with active trades in guar seeds, chana, pepper, soyabean, soya oil & rape mustard seed.

MUMBAI: NCDEX registered a turnover of Rs 1,582 crore up to 5 pm on Tuesday with active trades in guar seeds, chana, pepper, soyabean, soya oil and rape mustard seed.

Guar seed posted a turnover of Rs 292 crore and the October delivery contract closed at Rs 1,682 per quintal against Rs 1,706 on Monday. Chana near-month contract clocked a turnover of Rs 194 crore. Its price fell from Rs 2,289 per quintal on Monday to Rs 2,277.

Jeera posted a turnover of Rs 125 crore and the October contract closed at Rs 9.936 per quintal from Rs 10,176. Pepper clocked a turnover of Rs 161 crore. Its price fell to Rs 12,092 from Rs 12,239 per quintal. Soya oil posted a turnover of Rs 182 crore. The near-month contract moved down to Rs 44.80 per 10 kg, from Rs 492.90. Chilli posted a turnover of Rs 10 crore, and moved up from Rs 4,645 per quintal to Rs 4,675.

MCX registered a turnover of Rs 4.990.89 crore up to 5.45 pm (due to sun outage). Bullion turnover was Rs 2,620.98 crore. Both gold and silver declined on Tuesday. December gold closed at Rs 9,424 per 10 gm against Rs 9,513 on Monday. December silver fell to Rs 18,057 per kg from Rs 18,235.

In base metals segment, copper clocked a turnover of Rs 682 crore, and the near-month contract closed at Rs 316 per kg against Rs 318. Zinc turnover was Rs 484.86 crore. October zinc quoted marginally lower at Rs 118.4 from Rs 119.
