CTC tea sells at high rates
Backed by a strong demand, large volumes of CTC tea were traded at high prices at a sale held here last week.

COONOOR: Backed by a strong demand, large volumes of CTC tea were traded at high prices at a sale held here last week.
Of the total 11,53,048 kg tea sold at the sale on November 2 and 4, CTC leaf contributed to 8,06,838 kg and CTC Dust 2,85,139 kg.
Brighter and the medium variants of CTC leaf met with more demand and sold at firm levels, while the smaller brokens and fanning went dearer by up to Rs two.
Among CTC dust tea, brighter liquoring dusts were quoted dearer by Rs 2-Rs 4, while the plainer ones by upto Rs 2.
As many as 19,273 kg of Orthodox leaf tea were sold. Well-made whole leaf varieties saw better advances while the rest sold at firm to dearer levels.
In the Orthodox dust category, as many as 41,798 kg were sold. Primary dusts sold at irregular prices, whereas the lesser high gr owns ruled easier.
