Crude oil futures down 0.36 pc on weak Asian cues

NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures prices today fell by 0.36 per cent to Rs 4,684 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.


At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 17 or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 4,684 per barrel in 8,851 lots.

Similarly, the oil for May delivery contracts moved down by Rs 16, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 4,721 per barrel in 2,455 lots.

The trading sentiment remained weak at futures trade after crude oil prices declined in Asian trade on slowing Chinese growth and concerns over weaker global energy demand, analsyts said.

Meanwhile, crude oil for May delivery shed 14 cents to USD 86.54 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
