NEW DELHI: Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists amid low stocks.

Fall in supplies from producing belts also supported the upside in prices.

Coriander and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,500-12,500 and Rs 7,200-12,400 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

The following are today's quotations per quintal: Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 540-670, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,110 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-770, cardamom (colour robin) 620-720, cardamom bold 670-720, cardamom extra (bold) 820-920 and cloves (kg) 850-900.
