Coriander futures remain up on rising demand

Coriander rose for the third day in a row by adding Rs 82 to Rs 4,830 per quintal in futures market today following firm demand.

NEW DELHI: Coriander rose for the third day in a row by adding Rs 82 to Rs 4,830 per quintal in futures market today following firm demand.

Further, restricted arrivals from producing regions in the spot market also supported the upside in prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, coriander for delivery in September added Rs 82, or 1.73 per cent, to Rs 4,830 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,680 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in August gained Rs 64, or 1.39 per cent, to Rs 4,675 per quintal in 15,890 lots.

Market analysts said rising demand in the spot market following festive season demand amid lower arrivals from producing belts mainly helped coriander futures to trade higher.
