Copra declines on fresh arrival

NEW DELHI: In restricted activity, copra prices eased by Rs 100 a quintal on the wholesale dry fruit market on Saturday owing to fresh arrival from producing region.

Elsewhere, prices moved in a tight range in scattered buying or selling and settled around previous levels.

Traders said fresh arrival in the face of reduced demand mainly brought down copra prices.

Copra eased to Rs 4500-4700 against last close of Rs 4600-4800 a quintal.

Following were today's quotations per 40 kgs bag: Almond (California) new 8,500 Almond (gurbandi) 5,000 Almond (girdhi) 3,100, Almond kernel (California) 300-301 Almond kernel (gurbandi) (kg) 300-325 and Abjosh Afghani 6,000-12,000.
