Copper futures traded a shade higher at Rs 396.55 per kg today on the back of a firm Asian trend and increased domestic demand.

NEW DELHI: Copper futures traded a shade higher at Rs 396.55 per kg today on the back of a firm Asian trend and increased domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month June traded higher by 15 paise or 0.04 per cent to Rs 396.55 per kg in a business turnover of 398 lots.

The metal for delivery in April edged up by 10 paise or 0.03 per cent to Rs 390.70 per kg in 636 lots.

Globally, at Shanghai copper for delivery in July rose 0.7 per cent to 44,020 yuan (USD 7,100) per tonne.

Market analysts said besides increased demand from consuming industries, a firm trend in base metal at Shanghai, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade here.
