Commodities turn weak in Chennai market
A weak trend prevailed in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week ending on Saturday.
Barring wheat and maida, which ruled steady, prices of other commodities were lower as compared to the previous week.
Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal and gram dal all moved down by Rs.50 each per quintal to Rs 4,400, Rs 3,800, Rs 3,200 and Rs 2,750 respectively.
Maida (90 kgs) declined by Rs 30 to Rs 1,350 from Rs 1,380 and Sooji (90 kgs) slid by Rs 50 to Rs 1,500 from Rs 1,550.
Sugar and wheat at Rs 1,340 and Rs 1,450 respectively remained unchanged over previous week rates.
