Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists as well as exporters.

NEW DELHI: Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists as well as exporters.

Tight stocks position following poor supplies from producing belts also influenced the prices, traders said.

Red chilli and turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 5,600-11,000 and Rs 4,400-7,900 per quintal, respectively.

The following are today's quotations: Ajwain 10,000-15,500, black pepper (per kg) 470-540, betelnut (kg) 160-195, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 850-950, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 950-1,100.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 810-910, cardamom (colour robin) 820-850, cardamom bold 815-885, cardamom extra (bold) 1,060-1,090 and cloves (kg) 700-800.
