NEW DELHI: Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to subdued demand from retailers and stockists.

Red chilli and turmeric prices fell Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 6,500-12,500 and Rs 8,900-12,700 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and turmeric prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs): Ajwain (per kg) 150-185, black pepper (per kg) 560-740, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,690-1,700 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,900.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 770-830, cardamom (colour robin) 770-790, cardamom bold 780-800, cardamom extra (bold) 910-960 and cloves 710-830.
