Chilli hits roof on flood in Pakistan
NCDEX registered a total turnover of Rs 2,376 crore on Tuesday with active trades in guar seed, chana, pepper, jeera, and soya oil.
Chilli futures hit upper circuit on floods in chilli-growing areas in Pakistan and the consequent demand of indian crop. August chilli closed at Rs 4,108 per quintal against the previous close of Rs 3,965.
Guar seed recorded a volume of Rs 539 crore with August contract closing higher at Rs 1,793. Jeera notched up a volume of Rs 182 crore and August contract closed up at Rs 11,791 per quintal. Pepper volumes were at Rs 330 crore and August contract closed up to Rs 13,824 per quintal.
MCX in the first session registered a turnover of Rs 4,088.85 crore which was 31% up from turnover in the corresponding session of the previous day.
Bullion turnover was Rs 1,303 crore of which gold contracts accounted for Rs 866.84 crore and silver contracts for Rs 436.23 crore. August gold was up at Rs 8,732 per 10 gm while September silver was up at Rs 17,600 per kg.
In the base metals segment, the turnover for copper contracts was Rs 675 crore. August copper was up at Rs 322 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 728.83 crore and August contract was up at Rs 145.40 per kg.
