Chilli futures fall 1.32% on sluggish demand
Chilli prices fell by Rs 70 to Rs 5218 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions on the back of sluggish demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in December fell by Rs 70, or 1.32 per cent to Rs 5218 per quintal with an open interest of 5245 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in the March contract lost Rs 62, or 0.96 per cent to Rs 6430 per quintal in 2190 lots.
Market experts said speculators offloaded their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand at prevailing higher levels mainly influenced chilli futures.
