Chilli futures down 2.07 per cent on profit-booking
NEW DELHI: Chilli prices down by 2.07 per cent to Rs 10,120 per quintal in futures trading on Friday as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market also put pressure on chilli teja prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in June fell by Rs 214, or 2.07 per cent to Rs 10,120 per quintal with an open interest of 1510 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July declined by Rs 168, or 1.62 per cent to Rs 10,200 per quintal in 70 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down chilli teja prices at futures trade.
