Chana futures weaken by 1.31 per cent on sluggish demand

Chana prices were down by 1.31 per cent to Rs 2,794 per quintal in futures trade today on account of sluggish demand in the spot markets amidst hopes of higher output.

NEW DELHI: Chana prices were down by 1.31 per cent to Rs 2,794 per quintal in futures trade today on account of sluggish demand in the spot markets amidst hopes of higher output.

However, scattered demand ahead of festivals, capped the losses to some extent, traders said.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for October declined by Rs 37, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 2,794 per quintal with an open interest for 1,19,870 lots.

Similarly, chana for November delivery fell by Rs 37, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 2,881 per quintal with an open interest of 79,610 lots.
