Chana futures rise to Rs 4,626 a quintal on high buying pressure

Chana prices rose further by Rs 89 to Rs 4,626 per quintal in futures trade as the traders enlarged their holdings in the commodity.

NEW DELHI: Chana prices rose further by Rs 89 to Rs 4,626 per quintal in futures trade today as the traders enlarged their holdings in the commodity on account of the good demand in the market due to the festive season.

Restricted arrivals of the commodity in the physical market due to lower estimated output also influenced the chana prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for November delivery rose by Rs 89, or 1.96 per cent, to Rs 4,626 per quintal, with an open interest for 71,590 lots.

Similarly, chana for delivery in December higher by Rs 57, or 1.31 per cent, to Rs 4,395 per quintal, with an open interest for 75,140 lots.
