Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in chana prices at futures trade.

NEW DELHI: Chana prices rose 0.42 per cent to Rs 3,122 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions, triggered by rising demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in November rose Rs 13, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 3,122 per quintal with an open interest of 62,470 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 13, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 3,206 per quintal in 77,170 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in chana prices at futures trade.
