Chana futures remain up on rising festive demand

Chana prices gained Rs 45 to Rs 4,909 per quintal in futures market today on fresh buying by speculators tracking a firm spot market trend.

NEW DELHI: Chana prices gained Rs 45 to Rs 4,909 per quintal in futures market today on fresh buying by speculators tracking a firm spot market trend on rising festive demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October gained Rs 45, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 4,909 per quintal, with an open interest of 29,760 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 4,816 per quintal in 98,020 lots.

Marketmen attributed the said the rise in chana prices due to festive season mainly supported the uptrend.
