NEW DELHI: Chana prices declined by 0.40 per cent to Rs 3,255 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions on sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in April fell by Rs 13, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 3,255 per quintal with an open interest of 45,630 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May contract traded lower by Rs 13, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 3,308 per quintal in 68,200 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in chana prices at futures trade to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
