Castorseed plunges over 3 per cent in futures trade

NEW DELHI: Castorseed prices fell over 3 per cent in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions amdist weak domestic and export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed delivery in January month dropped by Rs.143, or 3.05 per cent to Rs.4,551 per quintal, with an open interest of 34,720 lots.

Also, February month delivery dipped by Rs.106, or 2.31 per cent to Rs.4,480 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,33,950 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators driven by weak domestic as well as export demand mainly weighed on castrseed prices at futures trade here.
