Castorseed futures slide as participants trim positions

The most-active August contracts also slipped by Rs 65, or 1.52 per cent, to Rs 4,222 per quintal, having an open interest of 2,56,440 lots.

NEW DELHI: Castorseed prices plunged by Rs 71 to Rs 4,162 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing positions on weak global and domestic cues.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in current month contracts traded Rs 71, or 1.68 per cent, lower at Rs 4,162 per quintal, in an open interest of 7,520 lots.

The most-active August contracts also slipped by Rs 65, or 1.52 per cent, to Rs 4,222 per quintal, having an open interest of 2,56,440 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued trend at spot markets on low demand from consuming industries, weak overseas cues also weighed on castorseed futures here.
