Cashew kernel, Pistacio prices up in thin trade
In thin trading, wholesale prices of cashew and pistacio today rose up to Rs 10 kg in the National capital on Saturday on fresh buying for the marriage season demand against restricted arrivals.
Cashew kernel Nos 180, 210, 240 and 320 rose by Rs 5 each at Rs 448-460, Rs 400-410, Rs 340-345 and Rs 310-325 per kg respectively on restricted arrival from Kerala against the current marriage season demand.
Pistachio Irani, hairati and peshwari also followed suit and gained to Rs 480-525, Rs 490-520 and Rs 520-560 against previous level of Rs 475-520, Rs 480-510 and Rs 510-550 per kg respectively on the wholesale dry fruit market here.
Marketmen said increased buying against restricted supply mainly pushed up these prices in the wholesale dry fruit market.
Elsewhere, other prices after moving in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading, settled at last levels.
Following were Saturday's quotations per 40 kgs bag: Almond (California) new 8,650 Almond (gurbandi) 5,000 Almond (girdhi) 3,100, Almond kernel (California) 305-310 Almond kernel (gurbandi) (kg) 300-325 and Abjosh Afghani 6,000-12,000.
