Cardamom rises in futures trade as demand picks up

Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to rising domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Cardamom rises in futures trade as demand picks up
NEW DELHI: Amid pick-up in domestic and export demand and restricted arrivals from producing regions, cardamom prices moved up by 0.92 per cent to Rs 835 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month April rose by Rs 7.60, or 0.92 per cent to Rs 835 per kg in business turnover of 66 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in March moved up by Rs 7, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 804.80 per kg in 386 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to rising domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions.
