Cardamom rise on spot demand

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 20 per kg in the wholesale kirana market today on pick up in seasonal demand against restricted arrivals.

NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices rose by Rs 20 per kg in the wholesale kirana market today on pick up in seasonal demand against restricted arrivals.

Traders said, rising demand against restricted arrivals pushed up cardamom small. Demand for the ongoing marriage season also supported the uptrend in select spices, they added.

Cardamom small varieties such as chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra-bold were shot up by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,100- 1,190, Rs 1,205-1,230, Rs 1,235-1,250 and Rs 1,305-1,330 per kg.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1100-1,190, cardamom (colour robin) 1,205-1,230, cardamom bold 1,235-1,250, cardamom extra (bold) 1,305-1,330 and cloves (kg) 265-315.
