Cardamom recovers on spot demand

NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices recovered by Rs 2.10 to Rs 1,326 per kg in futures trading today, snapping a two-day losing streak, on the back of rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 1,326 per kg in business turnover of 68 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in the June contract traded higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 1,335 per kg in 630 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot markets amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.
