Cardamom futures up on strong spot demand

Cardamom futures up on strong spot demand
NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices moved up by 1.47 per cent to Rs 771.90 per kg in futures trading on Thursday mostly supported by rising demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August moved up by Rs 11.20, or 771.90 per kg in business turnover of 150 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July contract gained Rs 8.60, or 1.16 per cent to Rs 750 per kg in 235 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices firm at futures trade.

Besides, some export enquiries also influenced the cardamom prices.
