Cardamom futures rise on strong demand, limited arrivals
NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices rose by Rs 9.30 to Rs 799 per kg in futures trade today on good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers.

Sentiment improved further on account of a firm demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for May delivery rose Rs 9.30, or 1.21 per cent, to Rs 772.50 per kg in a business volume of 873 lots.

The spice for delivery in June gained Rs 8.40, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 788.90 per kg in a business volume of 176 lots.

Traders said good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers against restricted arrivals from producing regions, attributed to the rise in cardamom prices in the futures market.
