NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices rose by 9.30 to Rs 1,057.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm spot market trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November rose by Rs 9.30, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 1,057.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 45 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in October moved up by Rs 5.80, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 1,034 per kg, with an open interest of 149 lots.

Marketmen said speculators enlarged positions on the back of good demand in the spot market amid limited arrivals from producing belt, pushing up cardamom futures.
